The 36 horses sold at last week's Goresbridge 'Go for Gold' event horse sale in Ireland fetched an average price of ???17,603.

New body created for Irish Endurance Riders

A new Irish body has recently been created; following a meeting of Irelands top endurance riders, held in September this year (2011). They will promote the sport and develop a calendar of events both competitive and training for 2012..


ISPCA horse and pony winter foster appeal

The ISPCA is appealing for experienced horse lovers to foster a horse or pony for the winter months or until a home can be found. This would involve providing a stable or shelter with access to grazing and providing your time together with food, fodder and bedding. A rug will be provided and if necessary veterinary and farrier costs covered by ISPCA.


Captain Curran boosts individual riders Olympic hopes

CAPT. Geoff Curran with Maurice Cassidy and The Minister for Defence's gelding The Jump Jet finished fourth of 87 starters in the CIC 3 star event in Cameri in Italy on 23rd October 2010 to boost Ireland's chances of gaining individual places in the London Olympics.


Irish Thoroughbred Breeders' Association announce new public forum on it's website

Following the completion of a very productive Road Show, the ITBA has posted a public forum on its website.

They are keen to encourage all breeders to log on to their website and post any comments, concerns or suggestion they may have.

Independent review ordered into Ireland's failure to qualify a team for the London 2012 Olympics

Irish showjumping authorities have ordered the review and questions have been raised in the Irish Senate. Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) are tendering for a company to carry out the investigation to establish why they have failed to have a team qualify at the 2012 Olympics.

The Irish Horse Welfare Trust is asking for the help of all those concerned about horse welfare in Ireland by lobbying Government to ensure that the new Animal Health & Welfare Bill is passed as a matter of extreme urgency.
